Abstract

This collection contains photocopies and original items pertaining to the genealogy of the Couplin family. Information in the collection begins with the life of William L. Couplin, who, for a portion of his life, lived in St. Peter, Minnesota. The collection also contains information on his son, Charles A. Couplin, and his family. Included in the collection are biographical sketches of selected family members, newspaper clippings, census sheets, correspondence, and photographs.

Abstract

This collection consists of items pertaining to Lorin Cray of Mankato, Minnesota. Cray was a Civil War veteran, a lawyer, and a supporter of the YMCA and YWCA in Mankato. The collection consists of newspaper clippings, photographs of the Crays and their home, a memorial card for Nellie Cray, a niece of Lorin Cray, and a volume of a letter-copying book. This book contains copies of letters written by Cray on legal and financial matters.

Abstract

The letter contained in this collection was written by Herman Czeikowitz (also known as Henry Harmon) to his sister Mathilda Czeikowitz in 1940. It is Mr. Czeikowitz's memories of the 1872 Sioux attack on New Ulm. The letter contains his recollections of the attack on his home in New Ulm, the gathering of the women and children, the people of New Ulm's intense fear that the Indians would start the prairie grasses on fire, and the additional things his father had told him about the attack.

Abstract

This collection consists of the autograph book of Ida E. Dyer, formerly of Mapleton, Minnesota. Dyer had her friends sign this book. Occasionally they wrote small poems for her or included pictures. The signatures are dated from 1878 to 1888. Those who signed the book listed Mapleton or the surrounding area as their home.

Abstract

This collection consists of photocopies of genealogical information relating to Adolph Olsson Eberhart, who was a member of the Minnesota State Senate and governor of the state of Minnesota from 1909 until 1915. These copies were made from records found in the Goteborg Provincial Archives in Sweden. They outline the history of Eberhart's family before they Came to the United States. Eberhart's original Swedish name was Olaf Adolf Andersson, and that is how it is listed in the records.
